What is negative strength training?

Negative -42 Training is a Negative Strength Training program (also known as Negative Resistance Training) that focuses on loading the muscle fibres as they lengthen.

 

It’s a form of strength training proven to build lean muscle faster than traditional strength training. Lean muscle is the most important factor for lowering body fat, building strength and toning your body. The goal is to reach muscle failure on every set.

We welcome you to join the 42 Day Negative Challenge – it’s a 6-week program (42 days) of 2 x 25-minute sessions per week for a total of 12 negative workouts at our Te Atatu Peninsula or Onehunga location. It’s a group training session with welcoming like-minded people and positive vibes. Our expert trainers will guide you every step of the way and tailor everything to your fitness level and abilities.

After the age of 30, our bodies begin losing muscle mass. Low amounts of lean muscle are associated with obesity, increased ageing and increased risk of death. How Negative Training Works

Our goal is to reach muscle failure. Then prioritise recovery.

Not all reps are built the same! Our expert trainers will guide and challenge you through all three phases of a single repetition, with greater emphasis put on the eccentric (lengthening) part of the exercise.

 

Yes, it makes it more challenging than a traditional rep that just focuses on the concentric phase – but that’s how we achieve better results in less time per week. And don’t worry, we will tailor exercises and reps to your goals, abilities, fitness levels and injuries – in a personalized group training environment.

About Negative 42 Training

Workouts shouldn’t take forever. Our mission is to help deliver for you amazing results, in less than one hour of exercise per week. Negative Strength Training is being used by elite athletes and sports organizations world wide. It’s proven to be safe and extremely time efficient. 

However the benefits of Negative Strength Training can be realized by everyone, not just elite athletes. That’s why we created Negative -42. To package Negative Training in a group personal training format. 

 

Josh and Rich are both highly experienced and expert trainers. They are also friends and founds of Negative -42 Training. We have started in West Auckland in 2023 with an ambitious vision to disrupt the fitness industry in Australasia. Join us, and be a part of the dream.
